I HAS A KITTY!!!

Her name is Suzie and she's two years old. One of our neighbors asked us if we could take her in since her owner is in the hospital and may not survive, and the family can't care for the cat. She's declawed (not my choice since I don't agree with declawing cats) and an indoor cat, and she's such a SWEETHEART! She's painfully shy though, and not used to people. She's currently hiding under my mom's chair.

The current drought in the Horn of Africa is the worst in 60 years. Between 11 and 13 million people in Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia and Djibouti are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Tens of thousands of people walk for days headed to refugee camps only to die of thirst and hunger. Mothers have to choose which of their children will live, babies are born only to be left to die, women are at higher risk for sexual assault, and the instability of the famine only exacerbates existing political tensions and violence. To make matters worse there's no rain forecast until September, leaving millions of people hanging on for dear life.

I know that a lot of us might not have the financial ability to donate but please, please donate if you can, bbs. Every little bit helps. To my Canadian bbs, every dollar we donate will be matched by the government until September 16th.

Are you ever too old to go trick-or-treating? Is candy for everyone?

I just buy my own candy. :p

Besides, we live in an adult-only complex (Older adults mostly), so there's rarely kids around anyway unless they're grandkids or nieces and nephews...

Raising $200,000 for a Muslim community in Sidney, NY to keep their cemetery, which the town hall wants them to get rid of. The money is for the mortgage. If you have anything, please consider donating.

Oh fuck you, Dad. I ordered lunch for all of us, and you throw a tantrum and throw your food on the kitchen counter because I spent money. And if I had just bought food for myself I'd be a selfish bitch, right? I did it because I wanted to include you you insensitive clod, and all you ever eat are the boneless ribs. I didn't have any other menus available so the chinese one was the first one I grabbed.  Silly me for wanting to buy my father lunch.

You know you're a Long Islander because…

1. You feel like you know Howard Stern.

2. You live in the shadow of the greatest city in the world, but you almost never go there.

3. When you're away from Long Island, you love it and when you're there, you don't.
